KOUYOU app for iPhone and iPad

KOUYOU is a poetic augmented reality app that allows people to write notes on Japanese maple leaves and blow these across the globe. The Explore mode lets you collect the leaves around you. In Map mode you can browse messages on a world map. The app makes us of iPhone functions like camera, microphone and compass and connect with facebook and maps.

The idea was created by think moto as part of the global:local project, to build connections between people in different regions in the world. global:local ia a project initiated by the German Designer Club (DDC) and Asahikawa Furniture Industry Cooperative in Japan. These are the features of the iPhone app in version 1.0:

- Blow into your microphone and send a message on a Japanese maple leaf into the world (the max. distance is approx. 9000 km, i.e. from Berlin to Asahikawa)
- Notify your friends on Facebook or via Email
- Explore the world around you and localise messages near you with a live-view mode
- Discover messages on a world map with your iPhone or on the KOUYOU web site

KOUYOU makes use of your iPhones camera, microphone and compass and is optimised for iOS 4.2.
Requirements: iPhone 3GS with iOS 4
